Every summer since 1962, people have gathered in the Redwood forest of California to enjoy Mendocino Folklore Camp’s wide variety of both formal and informal learning opportunities, taught by a talented, knowledgeable, world-class teaching staff. Our daily workshop classes offer international folk dance, music (instrument & band/ensemble) and singing classes, with a particular slant towads the Balkans, Europe and North America. With a camp size of about 100, we offer and inclusive, intimate and supportive atmosphere in which to learn. We welcome both beginners (with little or no previous knowledge) and advanced levels (with years of experience) to our workshops! Unique to Folklore Camp are our "Cultural Happy Hour Celebrations", where our teachers share their countries folklore, crafts, food and traditions with us. There are also nightly dance parties with live music, and a thriving late night Kafana scene.
Our featured dance teachers this year are; Yves Moreau (Balkan/Bulgarian), Bruce Hamilton (English & Scottish Country) and France Bourque-Moreau (French-Canadian). Please follow the links below for more information about our camp and a full list of our 2015 classes & teaching staff.
