EEFC Seeks Administrative Assistant

The EEFC is looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant.

We are seeking someone to provide basic administrative support to the Board, Board Committees, and the General Manager of the East European Folklife Center.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Marketing, communications, and PR support, such as maintaining and updating social media and websites
  • Editorial and production support for online and hard-copy content related to our workshops
  • Data entry and reporting, in systems including MailChimp, Salesforce, WordPress, and QuickBooks
  • Research on grants, community outreach, and potential partnerships
  • Administrative support for Balkan Music & Dance Workshop logistics
  • Administrative support to the EEFC's Development/Fundraising, Scholarship, and Program Committees as needed.

Because the Administrative Assistant supports a number of different people and roles, the person who fills this position should be comfortable estimating workload, and asking for guidance on prioritizing his or her time. We are looking for candidates who have excellent communication and project management skills and who possess high attention to detail.

And because the EEFC depends a great deal on performers and instructors from a wide variety of backgrounds, sensitivity to Balkan history and cultures is very helpful for this position. A working knowledge of any of the various languages of the region is an asset.

The Administrative Assistant is an independent contractor position. The job can be performed virtually, and will encompass a flexible 10-15 hours a week, with an hourly wage of $20. The Assistant will be required to attend both summer Balkan Music & Dance Workshops. Tuition, room and board, and travel to and from each workshop will be compensated.

Please send a resume and a letter of interest to office@eefc.org.
