Vassil Bebelekov

Thracian Gajda, Rhodope Gajda, Bitov (Bulgarian Village) Ensemble

Vassil Bebelekov, born in the Rhodope mountain town of Devin, was inspired to a life of folk music by village traditions and his grandfather, who played kaba gajda. Vassil played with Ensemble Trakiya and the Philipopolis Ensemble and has recorded for Radio Sofia, and taught at the Shiroka Luka Music School for many years. He lives in San Jose, CA.
