Planina: The Contemplation Concert

January 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Known for its stirring harmonies, rousing rhythms, and concerts that leave audiences feeling energized, the Denver-Boulder-based chorus Planina presents a rare concert of music to soothe the soul and bring rest to the weary.

On the afternoon of Saturday, January 18, treat yourself to quiet time drenched in the lush vocal harmonies of Eastern Europe. Give your body and mind a rest while Planina cradles you in music—no bright costumes, no announcements, no applause, just a smooth flow of the more reflective songs that we normally wouldn’t put together in one concert.

The songs range from Bulgarian and Croatian choral arrangements of folk melodies to Russian spiritual songs to Georgian love songs. Sit in traditional seating or bring pillows and mats to relax on the floor and engage in some deep listening and deep relaxing.
