Balkan Music &
Dance Workshops
Virtual Camp

While we regret the cancelation of both our Mendocino and Iroquois Springs workshops due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to have presented our first-ever, completely online Virtual Camps, each with three days of immersive classes, live-music performances, and community gatherings. Virtual Camp West Coast (July 17-19, 2020) was a great success, with 350 people registered. Our East Coast Virtual Camp (August 14-16) is now complete, with over 380 attendees!

Registration is now closed for both camps. Stay tuned for more EEFC-sponsored virtual events & classes!

Berovo

Macedonian Pearl Folk Seminar 2016

July 25, 2016 – August 3, 2016

Instruction in dance, vocal music, and instrumental music. At the Hotel Manastir in Berovo in Eastern Macedonia. High in the hills near the Bulgarian border, Berovo remains pleasant even when Skopje is an oven. The hotel is one of the very best in the country, with beautiful rooms and great traditional food from local sources!

The seminar may include a visit to the Berovo Roma neighborhood, music by the local Roma band Maleshevski Melos, and perhaps a visit by the Kochani Orkestra. The week ends with the Ilinden celebration at the nearby village of Vladimirovo. This is a real event, not a staged-for-tourists production, And it's a gas!
