Underground Balkan Bash feat. Tipsy Oxcart & Black Masala w/ Ottomania

May 21, 2015 at 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Doors 8PM
$12 ADV/ $15 DOS

Come get down in the underground. Black Masala brings badass Balkan brass, the Ottomania DJ's delivers dirty dancing, and Tipsy Oxcart celebrates their brand new CD with a release party that will capture your wildest dreams and deliver them to you on a luxurious leopard print pillow. Rawr.

"Black Masala puts a face-melting brass section to work on rhythms as varied as Balkan beats, New Orleans jazz, indie rock and Appalachian roots music. The thread connecting it all? Party music."

- Fritz Hahn, The Washington Post

Tipsy Oxcart plays electric, sweaty, bumpin' Balkan music, channeling the spirit of 36 hour weddings to keep the crowds dancing until the sun comes up. Serving up originals and fresh, upbeat arrangements of urban dance tunes, the band deviously infuses the sounds of South-Eastern Europe with elements of jazz, funk, and more. Dig naughty violin solos, atomic accordion grooves, freak-me-out clarinet, and the baddest rhythm section this side of the Mediterranean. A party with Tipsy Oxcart is guaranteed to shake the dance floor all night long!

Ottomania spins a bouncy mezze of underground dance music from & influenced by the East from the Balkans to the Middle East and don't forget Asia and the Pacific!!
