Kypseli Holiday party with live Pontian music with Niko Michailidis on lyra and Vicky Hioureas on daouli.

Nikos Michailidis obtained his PhD in the department of Anthropology at Princeton, and teaches at Princeton and Rutgers Universities. His thesis is an ethnography of music-making and belonging in contemporary Turkey, focusing on the rise of the "ethnic music" phenomenon in Turkey with special interest in Karadeniz/Pontian (Black Sea) music.
Nikos has played lyra for several dance groups at past and recent HDF and FDF competitions and has recorded several CDs.
