Nightingale Trio at the Jalopy Theatre

January 15, 2016 at 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm

The Nightingale Trio is a women’s vocal arts group inspired by traditional folk songs and vocal techniques from the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Though the trio strives to recreate the intricate, traditional, folk harmonies of the regions from which their music originates, they also expand the boundaries of this traditional folk genre by bringing their own unique forms of expression and creativity to the art form. With haunting birdsong lullabies, intricate old world harmonies, and songs of love, war, and moonlit round dances, the Nightingale Trio transports and enchants audiences from New York to Niš.
